Set on the continent of Lok, surrounded by a demon-infested ocean, this epic fantasy series follows Ashok Vadal — the greatest warrior alive and bearer of the ancient ancestor blade Angruvadal. As a Protector, Ashok ruthlessly enforced the Law, a rigid caste system that replaced all religion after the gods were forgotten. When he discovers his entire life is a lie — that he himself is casteless, the lowest of the low — everything changes. Alongside the reluctant prophet Thera and the rebel army called the Sons of the Black Sword, Ashok wages a war against tyranny, demons, and a conspiracy that threatens all of Lok.
