What if YOU could be a contestant? Wesley's about to find out.

Wesley and the Battle for Dream Island
A Battle for Dream Island Story
Featuring Wesley, Firey, Leafy, Bubble, Four & X
Page 1
Wesley was watching BFDI on his tablet — for the third time today. His mom had already said "five more minutes" twice.
"I wish I could be IN the show," Wesley said, pulling his blanket up to his chin. "I'd be the BEST contestant ever. I'd win Dream Island easy."
Right as the episode hit the part where Four screeches, something weird happened. The screen started glowing — not normal glowing, but BRIGHT, like stare-into-the-sun bright.
"Uh... that's new," Wesley said.
And then the tablet PULLED him in.
Page 2
Wesley tumbled through a swirl of colors and landed — THUD — face-first in grass.
He sat up and looked around. Green fields. Blue sky. And in the distance... Dream Island, sparkling on the water. ACTUAL Dream Island.
"No. Way." Wesley whispered.
"HEY! HEY YOU! WHAT ARE YOU?!"
Wesley spun around. Standing right in front of him was Firey, Leafy, Bubble, and about thirty other contestants — all staring at him like he had three heads.
"Are you... a HUMAN?!" Leafy gasped. "I've read about those!"
Page 3
Before Wesley could explain, the ground shook. A giant blue number descended from the sky. FOUR.
"WHAT. IS. THIS." Four said, poking Wesley's arm. "It's squishy. And tall. And it doesn't have a recovery center."
"I'm Wesley! I'm a kid! I watch your show!"
Four's eyes went wide. "You... watch us? From where?"
"From my tablet. In Maryland."
Four stared at him for a very long time. Then a huge grin spread across his face. "A HUMAN contestant! This has NEVER happened before! You're IN. You're competing."
X bounced over excitedly. "Ooh! Can he be on a team? Can he? CAN HE?!"
Page 4
"TEAM PICKING TIME!" Four screeched (Wesley covered his ears — that screech was WAY louder in person).
Nobody wanted to pick first. Everyone just stared at Wesley.
"He doesn't even have ARMS that detach,"Snowball grumbled. "He can't fly,"Puffball noted. "He can't even recover if he DIES,"Blocky added cheerfully.
Wesley's heart sank. Nobody wanted the human kid.
Then a voice spoke up. "I'll take him."
Everyone turned. It was Firey. "He watches the show. That means he knows all of us. Our strengths, our weaknesses, our strategies." Firey grinned. "Wesley's basically a walking cheat code."
X clutched his favorite basket protectively. "Please be gentle with it..."
The rules were simple: X's basket was hidden somewhere in the Goiky forest. First team to find it and bring it back wins. Losers face elimination.
Wesley's brain went into overdrive. He'd seen every episode. He KNEW this forest.
"Guys, huddle up," Wesley said. "I know where X hides things. He always picks spots near water because he likes the sound. We need to head toward Yoyle River."
Leafy's eyes went wide. "He's RIGHT. X does love water sounds!"
Coiny shrugged. "Okay, tiny human. Lead the way."
Page 6
Wesley's team raced into the Goiky forest. The trees were HUGE — way bigger than any tree Wesley had seen back home. Some of them had faces (which was... unsettling).
"Stay close!"Leafy called. "The other team went left!"
Wesley spotted something — footprints. Tiny, X-shaped footprints in the mud, heading toward the river. "THIS WAY!"
But the path was blocked by a massive fallen tree. Firey tried to burn through it, but it was too thick and wet. Bubble couldn't squeeze through the gaps. Everyone was stuck.
Wesley looked at the tree. Then he looked at his team. Then he smiled.
"I can climb OVER it. Humans are really good at climbing."
Page 7
Wesley scrambled over the tree and found a path on the other side. He could hear the river! They were close.
But then — CRASH — the other team burst through the bushes. Snowball was in the lead, and he looked MAD.
"THERE THEY ARE! GET THE BASKET BEFORE THE HUMAN DOES!"
Blocky launched a prank — a tripwire made of string! Wesley saw it just in time and jumped over it.
"HA! Nice try, Blocky! I've seen every episode of Blocky's Funny Doings International. I KNOW your tricks!"
Blocky's jaw dropped. "He... he knows about the show?!"
"I know EVERYTHING about the show,"Wesley grinned.
Page 8
Wesley burst through the last row of trees and there it was — the river, sparkling in the sunlight. And sitting on a mossy rock right next to the water...
X's basket.
"THERE!" Wesley shouted. He sprinted for it — but Snowball was RIGHT behind him, and Snowball was FAST.
Wesley's legs were shorter. He wasn't going to make it.
Then Bubble floated up beside him. "Wesley! GRAB ON!"
Wesley grabbed Bubble's hand — gently, SO gently — and Bubble floated him forward just far enough. His fingers closed around the basket handle.
"GOT IT!"
"YOYLECAKE!" Bubble cheered. And miraculously, she didn't pop.
Page 9
Wesley's team ran back to Four carrying the basket, all of them cheering and yelling.
"WE WON! WE WON! THE HUMAN WON IT FOR US!"Coiny shouted, doing a victory dance.
Four examined the basket carefully and handed it back to X, who hugged it like a long-lost friend. "My basket! You're SAFE!"
"The winners are... WESLEY'S TEAM!" Four announced.
The contestants erupted. Firey high-fived Wesley (which stung a little — Firey was still fire). Leafy picked him up and spun him around. Even Needle gave him a pat on the back (carefully, so she wouldn't poke him).
"Not bad for a human,"Lollipop said. Coming from her, that was basically a standing ovation.

That night, the losing team faced Cake at Stake. Wesley watched from the safe seats, eating actual cake (it was way better than Flower's).
"So this is what it looks like from the inside," Wesley whispered to Firey. "On my tablet it's just a screen. But here it's... real."
"Were you scared?" Firey asked. "During the challenge?"
"Terrified," Wesley admitted. "But like... the GOOD kind of scared. The kind where you do it anyway."
Firey's flames flickered warmly. "That's the best kind."
Woody leaned over from the row behind. "Y-you were really brave out there, Wesley."
Wesley smiled. That meant more than any Dream Island ever could.
Page 11
The next morning, Wesley's tablet appeared in the sky, glowing just like before.
"That's your ride home, isn't it?"Leafy said quietly.
Wesley's stomach dropped. He didn't WANT to go home. He wanted to stay in Goiky forever, with Firey and Leafy and Bubble and everyone.
"Will I be able to come back?" Wesley asked Four.
Four shrugged. "How should I know? I'm a number, not a portal expert." Then he added, softer than usual, "But... the show goes on, Wesley. And as long as you're watching... you're always part of it."
Bubble floated over and gave him the gentlest hug in history. "We'll moiss you, Wesley."
Wesley hugged her back — carefully. "I'll miss you too, Bubble. All of you."
Page 12
Wesley tumbled out of the screen and landed back in his bed, blanket and all. His tablet showed the BFDI end credits, playing normally like nothing had happened.
Had he dreamed it?
He looked down. In his hand, he was holding something small and warm — a tiny flame-shaped pin. It hadn't been there before.
Wesley smiled the biggest smile of his entire life. He set the pin on his nightstand, pulled up his blanket, and whispered:
"Same time tomorrow, guys."
The pin flickered. Just once. Just for him.
